Margaret was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph, her parents, a son, Donald Gallant, a grandson, Matthew Krehbiel, daughter-in-law, Linda Gallant and a brother, Donald Hyer. Margaret is survived by two children and their spouses, John and Kristine Gallant, Escanaba, MI Mary and Greg Krehbiel, Suamico a daughter-in-law, Robin Gallant, Green Bay eight grandchildren and their spouses, Ellen and Peter Brehm, Caroline and Ivan Majias, Leslie and Jerry Petasek, Andrew Gallant, Margaret and Justin Paul, Taylor Gallant, Adam and Greta Krehbiel, Katharine and Gavin Klingonsmith ten great-grandchildren, Alice and Edgar Petasek, Joshua, Ella and Lauren Klingonsmith, Lily Krehbiel, Connor and Aiden Paul, Sara and Rachel Brehm other relatives and friends. Margaret enjoyed the time spent with her children, grandchildren and family and was an avid Packer fan. She was a member of Annunciation Parish for many years. They enjoyed more than 45 years of marriage until Joseph preceded her in death in July of 1991. 27, 1945, Margaret was united in marriage to Joseph Gallant at Fort Meade, MD. Patrick Grade School and later from Green Bay West High School in the Class of 1942. She was born in Green Bay to Charles and Ida (McKew) Hyer. Gallant, 84, Green Bay, died peacefully Saturday July 12, 2008, at her home. Steve Gallant was Santa Claus for hundreds, if not thousands of children throughout the region for more than 60 years. He took pride in his lawns, his beautiful flowers and the hundreds of hummingbirds that he faithfully fed. He was a communicant of The Parish of The Holy Savior, St. Each year he entered ‘Christmas in July’ at Worthley Pond and won first prize numerous times, an achievement that he held on to like a Gold Medal winner of the Olympics. He was always organizing and planning events. He had a dry sense of humor, but anyone who knew him, knew when he was attempting to push someone’s buttons.Steve took pride in everything he did, and if it wasn’t right the first time, a repeat performance was usually already being discussed.He gave 60-plus years of his life to the Rumford Snowshoe Club and most of that time was as president. He was always up for a couple of after dinner drinks and a good game of cards, sometimes mischievously trying to incite a riot during the card games. Whether it was a small gathering of family and friends, or large family and class reunions, Steve had it covered, right down to dessert. Steve was ‘The Man’ for social events and gatherings. He spent those years making friends and debating politics.He purchased a lakefront parcel of land at Worthley Pond and built his home. When his four years in the Navy was completed, he moved back to the Rumford area that he loved so dearly.He then continued his career with Oxford Paper Company, that he started when in high school, eventually working with the electricians and retiring after 40-plus years.
